Ghana Premier League debutant Vision FC secured their first win of the season after beating Accra Lions 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
Elijah Addai and Emmanuel Kyei Baffour scored to give Vision FC all three points and keep their unbeaten streak going.
Accra Lions suffered their second consecutive loss of the new season, following their defeat to Medeama SC last week at the TNA Stadium.
Before the start of the match, Accra Lions, who placed second in last season’s league, were favourites to secure all three points, but the resilience of Vision FC was commendable.
Having dominated possession in the first half, Accra Lions couldn’t break the solid backline of Vision FC, which was being marshalled by the experienced Nicholas Mensah.
Issah Kuka teed up Addai for the opening goal of the match in the 44th minute as he looped the ball past Accra Lions goalkeeper Nkwafor.
Accra Lions returned from the interval full of energy, determined to restore parity, but they squandered the majority of their opportunities.
However, they were further punished at the end when Kyei Baffour scored the second goal to cap off an impressive victory for the Tema-based team.
