UB40, Salif Keita To Thrill Fans @ Stanbic Jazz Festival

Date:

The 2019 edition of the annual jazz music festival dubbed ‘Stanbic Jazz Festival’ will take place from February 28 to March 2 at the Labadi Beach Resort in Accra.

This year’s festival, which is being organised by the Stanbic Bank, is under the theme: ‘Nostalgia’.

A number of music stakeholders and jazz music lovers from other African countries like South Africa and Nigeria are expected to attend the event.

It will feature celebrated international award-winning musicians such as Salif Keita, Richard Bona and UB40 music group.

They will perform alongside some selected local artistes, including award winning ace guitarist and jazz musician Akablay and his Abiza Band.

Speaking at the launch of the 2019 edition of the Stanbic Jazz Festival held at the Stanbic Heights in Accra, Mawukor Afadzinu, Head of Marketing & Communications at Stanbic Bank, said the festival offers the platform which brings global legends and local icons together “as we connect to our past.”

He mentioned that this year’s jazz festival would see an extension into the other genres of music and taken to greater heights.

“This year, we have more ways of increasing the scope so that more people can attend and enjoy the festival.

We want as many people as possible to be part of the wonderful celebration of who we are especially as aligns with the celebration of our independence month,” Mr. Afadzinu stated.

“The people we are bringing this year represent a collection of legends of different variety and we all have sweet memories of them,” he added.

Mr. Afadzinu also urged Ghanaians to be prepared for the celebrations and be part of this mega music event.
