U/E Regional Minister marks hundred days in office with prayer meeting

A breakfast prayer meeting has been organized by the Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage, at the Regional Coordinating Council, (RCC), to mark her hundred days in office.

The meeting brought together all the head pastors of the various denominations across the Upper East Region.

Ms. Abayage stated that as a Christian, she puts God first before anything else. She added that, though she is a Catholic, she has been fellowshipping with other denominations from time to time since her assuming into office.

It was there her desire to bring men of God together, to pray ensemble for her as the Regional Minister, for God’s guidance and protection, the region for peace to prevail, and the country at large.

It was also to interact and share ideas regarding the development of the Region. Presiding Pastor Rev. James K. Awuni District Minister Bolgatanga Presbyterian Church of Ghana accompanied by the other Ministers of God, led the prayers accordingly.

During open forum, issues raised ranged from the lack of qualified doctors at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, citing of graves anyhow for burial by a Pathologist now in full time ministry, Rev Kwame Safe Frimpong of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church indicated that, burying anyhow could pose danger to human health.

Rev Frimpong said though he no more with the Regional Hospital, if they will consider it he will be ready to assist in that regard. Another concerned posed was on user agencies sometimes excavating the meddle of the roads in the Municipality for their works and not fixing them back properly.

Rev Father Gabriel Atidoo and Vicar General of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, expressed worry on the the Ayawaso West Wogon by-elections incident.

The Vicar General called for proper investigation to be conducted. Atidoo Father lamented that, if the issue of vigilantism is not well handled, the kind of vigilante groups that are trained and kept in Ghana, the country is sitting on time bomb.

In her response, the Regional Minister indicated that, vigilantism means doing something positive to bring about development but rather unfortunately, the groups that style themselves with word vigilante do rather the contrary.

But assured the men of God that, everything possible will be done to wipe out the occurrence of such incidents and possibly stamp out those groups in existence.

She stated that, she will pick up the grave issue with the Ghana Health Service GHS to see what can be done about it.
