They can’t possibly lose to Chelsea! Liverpool are planning a £60 million approach for midfielder Moises Caicedo after being rejected by Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Date:

Liverpool are said to be stepping up their pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure after losing out to Chelsea for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

According to The Independent, Liverpool’s hunt of a midfield solution has resumed as they focus on acquiring Crystal Palace’s Doucoure. Jurgen Klopp is looking to add a number six to his roster, and Doucoure has surfaced as a possible target due to his potentially lesser price tag when compared to Caicedo and Lavia.

According to reports, Palace might want approximately £60 million ($76 million) for the player. Yet, they may need some convincing as they are concerned of losing too many players in this window, which might undermine the team’s nucleus. The Malian is also eager to pay under Klopp, and reaching an agreement on personal conditions should be no issue for Liverpool.

AND WHAT’S MORE: Other potential options, such as Joao Paulinha from Fulham and Khephren Thuram from Nice, are considered, but Doucoure currently stands out as a favourable choice among them.

WHAT NEXT? Liverpool hope to build a competitive lineup for the 2023-24 season and securing Doucoure could provide the much-needed midfield stability after the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
