Tarkwa: Gyaasehene of Apinto Divisional Council found after allegedly going missing

The Gyaasehene of the Apinto Divisional Council in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region, Dr. Nana Adarkwa Bediako III, has been found and reunited with his family after allegedly going missing amidst rumours of possible kidnapping.

According to the family, it is yet to ascertain whether their relative was kidnapped or he went missing.

The chief is a member of the Board of Directors of Atinka Media Group.

There were initial reports that he had received death threats from a relative before his alleged disappearance.

Speaking to Citi News, the Head of Corporate Affairs of Tobinco Group Limited, who is also a relative of the victim, Albert Kwabena Duffour, said the prime suspect has been arrested.

“The prime suspect by the name Kakra known in his private life as Ayiblay threatened that he is going to take his life within five days, but now what I can say is that we have our chief released and we want to leave the rest to the police and the other security apparatus.”

The chief is said to have gone missing on Wednesday, 14th July 2021.

The Akyeamehene of Apinto, Nana Kwabena Obo II, said the Chief’s vehicle was found without him in the community, but with his car keys and phones were in the vehicle.
