Children are now at increased risk of disease, with basic services such as immunisation not fully functioning.

The report says there have been outbreaks of measles and an increase in mortality rates associated with acute malnutrition in Darfur and White Nile.

Across the country, 24.7 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.

Since the start of the conflict, there have been over 3,000 deaths and 6,000 injuries. Of those, over 330 children have been killed and 1,900 injured, according to UNICEF.

The post Sudan conflict: children are more at risk appeared first on Sweet Melodies FM.

Sudan conflict: army chief urges civilians to enrol

Editor

Africa

Features

News

Sudan conflict

Sudan’s army leader, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, stated on Monday that his forces are ready to “accept and equip” volunteer fighters.
