Safety measures must be put in place before league resumes – Emmanuel Akuoko

Date:

Aduana Stars FC captain Emmanuel Akuoko has disclosed that safety measures must be put in place by the Ghana Football Association before the 2019/20 season resumes.

All football activities have been suspended since mid-March due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Discussions are currently ongoing about how to finish the season with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points after 15 matches played before the topflight was halted.

The Ghana Football Association has set June 30 as the date they decide the future of the league.

“We should not rush to resume football now, it is up to the GFA,”

“Measures must be put down to ensure the safety of both players and fans,” he told Sikka FM.

He added, “My biggest worry in Ghana football is the meager salaries players are paid. There need to be structures put down by the FA on how much clubs are to pay players.” he concluded.
