Rev. Prof Ivy Drafor-Amenyah launches two Christian books

Date:

The Reverend Professor Ivy Drafor-Amenyah, an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has launched two books to empower Christians in their walk with God.

The two books: “Your Life in the Supernatural,” and the revised and updated version of, “More than Treasures of Gold” were published by Digibooks Ghana Ltd.

The first book; “Your Life in the Supernatural”, 292 pages, emphasises that whether people were conscious or not, the supernatural affected everyone.

It reveals the devastating effects of indulging in negative spiritual activities and encourages those who had engaged in the dark side of the supernatural to find their way out of it as fast as possible.

The second book; “More than Treasures of Gold,” is a 228-page revised Christian book.

The first edition, which was published in 2013, saw thousands of copies sold and many lives impacted.

Prof Drafor-Amenyah has been involved with prison ministry for several years, a ministry, which began through donating copies of “More than Treasures of Gold” to the inmates and officers at the Senior Correctional Centre.

As a teacher of God’s word, she prepares Bible study outlines for various churches and parachurch groups, trains Bible study leaders and speaks locally and internationally.

Prof Drafor-Amenyah is an MBTI® Certified Leadership Training Consultant.

She is an Associate Professor in Agricultural Economics with a PhD from the University of Ghana and Cornell University, a BSc and MSc from University of Guelph, Canada, and a BTh from Trinity Theological Seminary, Ghana.

Prof Drafor-Amenyah, speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the launch in Accra, said proceeds from the books would support her prison ministry with the young offenders at the Senior Correctional Centre, and the needy.

She noted that young people were into occultism because the Church was not providing the spiritual help as they should and said lives could only be transformed through the Holy Spirit.

Prof Drafor-Amenyah asked Christians to “eat their own spiritual food” – the word of God – and get to know God for themselves with first-hand information.

“Prayer is more effective for people who read the Bible themselves, their lifestyle is more effective, they are able to stay clear of stealing money from institutions, and mishandling their spouses and their Christianity is more authentic,” she said.

Nana Dr Kwesi Gyan-Apenteng, the immediate past Chairman of the National Media Commission, said the supernatural should not remain a misunderstood phenomenon, which the book was about.

He said the book would push readers outside the ignorance, confusion and fear that hindered their understanding of the supernatural.

Pastor Dr James Obeng, the Chairman of the Council for Evangel Church International and National Coordinator of the Network of Intercessors of Ghana, chaired the function, while Apostle Samuel Vincent Ansah, Member of the Executive Council of the Great Commission Church International, dedicated the books to God.
