Mr Pius Ofori, the Assembly Member of Basake Electoral Area, has cut the sod for the construction of a Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound for residents of Domeabra, a cocoa farming community in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
The residents have to travel for hours before accessing healthcare at Nzema Aiyinasi.
Mr Ofori said government alone could not provide infrastructure for its citizens hence the need for him to support the community with a health facility.

“I am solely financing everything to make sure the contractor completes the CHPS compound on time and what I will urge the community members to do to support is to provide communal labour to fast-track its completion,” he said.
The community elders commended the Assembly Member for ensuring that healthcare services were readily available for residents.
