“Quality recruitment and consistent technical team is our secret” – Wadudu

Alhaji Grusah’s King Faisal has caught the eyes of football connoisseurs with a remarkable start of the 2021/2022 league campaign with three wins out of three games played so far.

The Kumasi-based football team is at the joint summit on the league table with city neighbours, Asante Kotoko,as both clubs have nine points each.

King Faisal, a team threatened with relegation last season due to poor performance, is in a rich vein of form this season, giving its supporters a treat with some free-flowing football.

Last season, King Faisal failed to register a win as they had a point out of the three ties, scoring five goals and conceding 10 goals.

On the contrary, this season, Coach Nurudeen’s side boasts of a 100 percent record by securing victories against West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), Aduana Stars, and AshGold which they scored a summation of six goals and conceded only a goal.

Speaking to the GNA Sports on the current form of the team Mr. Osman Abdul Wadudu, an official of the club, attributed the incredible performance to the decision by the management of the club to maintain Coach Nurudeen Amadu and quality recruitment of players for this season.

According to him, the management of the club mapped out an effective and efficient plan taking into consideration the tough challenges the team faced in the premier league last season.

He said management took a decision to repose trust in Nurudeen Amadu and allowed him to sign players that fit into his playing style.

“The coach is still working on the attacking force of the team in order to improve their goal scoring ability even though things look rosy for them at the moment”, Osman stated.

“To win the league for me would put a lot of pressure on the playing body and the management.

“For now, what we are doing is we want to finish in a better position in the league – we don’t want what happened to us last season to happen.

“Our target is to finish in the top four, but if we don’t finish in the top four and then mid-table finish would be good for us,” he told the GNA Sports.

He urged the ardent fans of the club to keep rallying behind the team to help build the confidence of the players in their journey in 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season.

King Faisal would be looking forward to extending its winning streak as they head to Golden City Park to play Berekum Chelsea on Friday.
