PRESIDENT NANA AKUFFO-ADDO SWORN IN FOR A SECOND TERM AS PRESIDENT.

The President -elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo this afternoon has been sworn in as President of the state.

Earlier the Vice President Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia was sworn in by Chief Justice Enin Yeboah.

In his inaugural speech, the President congratulated the speaker on his election earlier in the morning.

The President Acknowledged that this is the first time a president form one party will have to work with a speaker from another party but hoped both of them will work towards ensuring a better Ghana.

President Nana Addo thanked Almighty God and Ghanaians for the honour to serve a second term.

He appealed to Ghanaians to get involved in governing the country. He said what has been the policy of the past 4 years will continue; which is that Ghanaians should be citizens and not spectators.

The President declared 2021 will be a year of roads and also said he expected Ekumfi juice; a benefactor of the one district one factory policy to rise in production to replace imported juices.

The President also promised that the remaining 15% electricity will be covered during this second term of his presidency.
He believed with discipline and caution Ghana will reduce Covid-19 cases.

Honourable Kyei Mensah Bonsu moved for the house to be adjourned to Friday the 15th of January at 10 in the forenoon and it was seconded.
