President Akufo-Addo Inaugurates 320 New Housing Units for Police Service in Tesano, Accra

Date:

Accra, Ghana – On 23rd July 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo inaugurated 320 new housing units for the Police Service in Tesano, Accra. This significant event underscores the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Ghana’s security personnel.

“These modern housing units are a testament to our dedication to providing secure and comfortable homes for our police officers,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

Modern Housing Units for Police Officers

The newly commissioned housing units in Tesano include a mix of two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. They are equipped with an officers’ mess, a social centre, multipurpose playing courts, and a kindergarten. These facilities are designed to create a supportive and conducive living environment for police officers and their families.

Enhancing Police Welfare

This development is part of the broader Security Services Housing Programme, launched in 2018, aimed at increasing the housing stock for Ghana’s security services. Adequate housing is crucial for boosting the morale and effectiveness of police officers, thereby enhancing their capacity to maintain law and order.

“Decent accommodation is essential for our police officers. It significantly improves their morale and performance,” President Akufo-Addo emphasized.

Government Commitment to Security Services

The successful completion of these 320 housing units highlights the government’s resolve to support the police force. President Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Works and Housing, the Ministry of the Interior, the Police Service, and all stakeholders involved in this project.

Building a Safer Ghana

“A well-housed police force is fundamental to a safer and more secure Ghana. Together, we are building a nation where every citizen feels safe, secure, and valued,” President Akufo-Addo concluded.
