The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Boamah, has criticised the Minority over its reaction to the alleged omission of names of some NDC Members of Parliament in the Votes and Proceedings of the House.
Mr. Boamah said it was “unfortunate” that members of the Minority dragged the office of the clerk into their banter with Majority members over the alleged omission.
Members of the Minority had accused the Clerk of Parliament of deliberately omitting their names and also failing to record their walkout ahead of the passage of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy).
However, Mr. Boamah believes the Minority’s concerns are baseless, as the omission may have been an oversight.

“They are workers and they can make mistakes. That is why the rules of the House allow us to raise it on the floor, whenever we detect any anomaly,” he said on Eyewitness News.
The Member of Parliament for Ododiodiodoo, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, on the same show, insisted that the omission was deliberate.
He said the development raises questions about Parliament’s integrity.
“I was a bit surprised when I saw almost eight of our members being marked absent. All of us are surprised, and I am happy the Speaker also expressed his surprise,” Mr. Vanderpuye added.
