Pastor Yonggi Cho’s wife, Sung-Hye Kim, the first president of the generation, dies

President Kim Seong-hye passed away on the 11th. Age 78.

The deceased, the wife of Senior Pastor Cho Yong-gi of Yeouido Full Gospel Church, died from a chronic disease at the Seoul National University Hospital in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Until recently, the deceased was hospitalized and treated at Seoul National University Hospital.

 

The deceased is the daughter of the late Pastor Choi Ja-sil, who founded the Yoido Full Gospel Church with Pastor Cho. Born in 1942 in Sinuiju, North Pyongan Province. In 1965, when he graduated from the Department of Piano at Ewha Womans University, he married Pastor Yonggi Cho. He received a master’s degree from the Manhattan College of Music in 1995 and a Ph.D. in ministry from Oral Roberts University in 2008. In 1999, he served as the vice-president of one generation and from 2001 to the present.

The bereaved are Senior Pastor Cho Yong-gi, the eldest son Hee-joon, the second son Min-je, the chairman of the Kookmin Daily, and the third son Seung-je, a generation director.

The burial was prepared at the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital. The funeral is held as the Yoido Full Gospel Church President on a 5-day market. The worship service will be held at 8 am on the 15th at the Daejeon of Yeouido Full Gospel Church in Seoul. Funeral services are offered online in accordance with the Corona 19 Prevention Regulations. Only 50 people, including the bereaved family, will attend the Daeseongjeon. Jangji is the cemetery of Choijasil Fasting Prayer Center in Osan-ri, Jojo-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The lower house service is held at 10 am on the 15th at the prayer center.
