Ms. Anita Adjei Mashe, a director of the Ghana Civil Aviation, has said the Authority was keen on compliance in the air travel business and would continue to maintain safe air travels in the country.

She said domestic air travel was one key area of concern to the Authority as Ghana made move to expand domestic travels and make air travel more accessible and cheaper to interested patrons.

Ms Mashe, was speaking to Journalists at the arrival point of the Takoradi Airforce Base when Passion Air made it first commercial landing in the Western Region, as an official opening of Passion Air and to commerce business in the Western Region.

She said all certification process had been duly undertaken and that Passion Air was eligible for family, business and Cargo operations.
Mr Okyere Darko, the Deputy Minister for Aviation, said air travel unlike in the past, had become more of a necessity than luxury to meet up with business appointment and other social engagements.

He therefore lauded the Management of Passion Air for their dedication to opening up the country through aviation.
Mr Darko said the government was planning to establish a new airport in the Region to cater for the expansion in the sector and called on all stakeholders to offer the needed support to the government to strengthen Air connectivity.
Passion Air will become fully operational in Takoradi from December 15, 2018.
