Liverpool are ready to make a triple transfer splash, with a goal-hungry Italy striker linked, Arsenal want an exciting Borussia Dortmund winger, while Monday’s transfer gossip has news of a surprise exit at Chelsea.
BELOTTI LINKED WITH LIVERPOOL
Liverpool are considering a cut-price move for Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports.
The Italy frontman is considered one of the best in Serie A and has a €100m exit clause in his deal. But with just a year left on his contract, he looks likely to leave for a cut-price £30m this summer.
That fee appears to have grabbed Chelsea’s attention – but Tuttosport reckons Liverpool are most likely to make their move. They state Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Edwards see Belotti as a cheap way to give their attack new zip. It will also further competition for Roberto Firmino in the central role – something John Aldridge now insists they must do.
The Reds’ prospects of a deal for Belotti have also increased with Torino lining up Cagliari’s Brazilian forward Joao Pedro, 29, as a replacement.
Liverpool face competition for Belotti from AC Milan, Inter and Roma.
Belotti has 104 goals in 222 appearances for Torino over six seasons.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express claims Liverpool are closing on a £52m double deal for Ibrahima Konate and Ozan Kabak.
The claim FSG plans to buy both centre-backs to provide cover and competition for Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez next season. Kabak has done enough after impressing on loan and will secure an £18m move.
Konate will cost £34m after the Reds agreed to meet his exit clause at RB Leipzig.
The signing of the pair will likely see Joel Matip and Ben Davies move on. Nat Phillips is expected to stay, though his game-time will reduce significantly.
