Nineteen projects executed in Akontombra District within three years -DCE

Mr Yawson Amoah, the District Chief Executive for Sefwi- Akontombra, has said the District has benefited from 19 projects funded by the ‘One -Million Dollars per Constituency Initiative’ over the past three years.
 
The projects include educational infrastructure, markets, health, sanitation and water.
 
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview on how the District Assembly has utilized its share of the amount, Mr Amoah said, the district has benefited immensely from the initiative and there is clear evidence for all to see.
He said a three unit classroom block each with ancillary facilities have been built at Mireku, Aprogya,Wuruwuru and Pekyi communities while a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities was built at Attakrom.
 
The DCE said two kindergarten blocks with ancillary facilities have also been built at Asantekrom, while a three- unit classroom block and teacher’s bungalow were built at Kojokrom, with Abronehia and Okrakrom  communities benefitting from three-unit classroom block each.
 
Mr Amoah said the Akrah community benefited from a KG block with office and stores, while Nyameagyeso had a three -unit classroom block with ancillary facilities.
 
Touching on market stalls to improve upon economic activities in the district, Mr Amoah said Nsawora community benefited from 72 market sheds with two lockable stores, while Akontombra got 25 unit market sheds.
 
On sanitation, the DCE said, the Akontombra Anglican school and Akontombra market benefited from a ‘10-seater’ water closet toilet each.
 
Mr Amoah said the district has also benefited from three mechanized solar panel boreholes located at the Nkwadum, Ackaakrom and Essase communities.
 
The DCE said some of the projects have been completed while others were at various stages of completion.
 
Mr Amoah commended government for the ‘One million Dollars per Constiuency Initiative’, noting that if not for the Nana Akuffo-Addo- Bawumia led government, the Akontombra District would not have benefited from all the projects.
