NDC in Essikado-Ketan suspect foul play

Date:

The executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Essikado-Ketan constituency are suspecting foul play in the voting and counting processes within the constituency.

A statement copied to the GNA on Tuesday and signed by Mr. Solomon Nkansah, Head of the Regional Campaign team read, “Over the course of last night, there was a stalemate at the Essikado-Ketan Constituency Collation Centre over the process governing the compilation of results from polling stations and importation of illegal ballot boxes with broken seals.

The incumbent MP has used similar rigging tactics during past elections but will not get away with it this time around. “

He said, the Party’s own collation at the centres showed that the Parliamentary Candidate Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah topped the election with over 51 per cent of total votes cast across the 153 polling stations within the constituency.

The statement urged all supporters to remain resolute and ignore fake results purporting to emanate from the Electoral Commission (EC).

Meanwhile, the EC official as at the time of filing this report at mid-day were still eagerly counting ballots and preparing pink sheets for the declaration of results.
