MTN Ghana donates PPEs to St. Gregory Catholic Hospital

Date:

MTN Ghana, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, on Wednesday donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to St Gregory Catholic Hospital at Buduburam in the Central Region.

The donation formed part of the mobile telecommunication company’s commitment to fighting Covid-19 in the country.

The items included 2000 nose masks, 10 cartons of gloves, 15 pieces of contactless thermometers, 1000 pieces of face shields, and 30 gallons of methylated spirit.

Ms Jemima Kotei Walsh, Chief Customer Service Relations Manager, MTN Ghana, said, the company had so far reached 29 health centres and 15 Senior High Schools in the country with similar donations.

Ms Walsh said they decided to come to the aid of the hospital since it was the only hospital serving communities in and around Buduburam and commended the health workers in the country for the invaluable service in fighting the spread of the pandemic.

“We will like to take this opportunity to commend health workers across the country especially those working in this hospital for their dedication in the fight against COVID-19 in Ghana.”

“As tough as the circumstances have been, our health workers have been up to the task in the fight against this deadly virus,” she said.

Reverend Father Daniel Ganu, Chaplain, St Gregory Catholic Hospital, said the donation was timely, saying, it would help in the operations of the hospital.

The Chaplain said the hospital had infrastructure challenge, and could not meet the rising medical care needs of residents.
