MP donates furniture to Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Education Directorate

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani- Anhwiaso –Bekwai Constituency, Mr Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu has donated 2,135  pieces of furniture to the  Bibiani- Anhwiaso-Bekwai  Education Directorate to enhance teaching and learning in the area.

The furniture made up of 1,000 hexagonal desks, 1,000 dual desks and 135 mono desks would be distributed to schools in the Constituency.

The MP who doubles as the Western North Regional Minister said the donation was in response to numerous calls made by some communities and educational authorities during his tour of the Constituency.

He said it was his commitment and that of President Akufo- Addo to support the development of education in the Municipality.

He said the furniture would be given to some selected schools in the Municipality and assured that many more would be donated in the near future.

Mr Aboagye-Gyedu said with the help of the Zongo Development Ministry, a new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre had been built in Bibiani Zongo to enhance the learning of ICT in the area.
 
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Alfred Amoah, pointed out that the Akufo- Addo led government had taken education as a major priority, hence the introduction of the Free Education SHS, which had gone a way to reduce financial burden on parents.

He urged students in the Municipality to patronize the new digital scholarship scheme the government had introduced, so to enhance their education.
