Miss Tourism Ghana host costume and talent night for contestants

The Miss Tourism Ghana pageant, a key component of Ghana’s tourism promotion, held a regional costume and talent night for the 2024 contestants.   

Contestants from various regions took center stage, mesmerizing the audience with traditional acts ranging from energetic dances to melodious tunes and distinctive regional customs. 

Following the regional costume session, the contestants exhibited their talents, ranging from singing and dancing to creative arts and public speaking. The performances showcased their skills and personalities. 

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Director of Domestic Marketing at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to promoting domestic tourism.   

He said that the Authority’s domestic marketing tourism campaigns, such as “See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, and Feel Ghana” and “Experience Ghana, Share Ghana,” had played key roles in boosting domestic tourism over the years. 

Mr. Kusi indicated that the GTA was poised to use the many beauty pageants across the country to educate the public on the importance of domestic tourism in driving the economy in terms of job creation, foreign exchange, national cohesion, and global recognition. 

Mrs. Delphine Brew Hammond, Chief Executive Officer of Miss Tourism Ghana, said that the contenders were ready for the Grand Finale, where they would showcase more of their region’s tradition and culture to promote domestic tourism.  

She said that the pageant’s grand finale would hold on September 20, 2024, at the National Theatre of Ghana, and that anticipation was growing as to who would be named the next Miss Tourism Ghana. 

The contestants include Agbolosu Mawuse Abla, Eastern Region; Emmanuella Owusuaa Wiredu, Volta Region; Adizah Alhassan, Bono Region; Lawrencia Ama Yeboah, Savannah Region; Deborah Dzifa Amezah, Greater Accra Region; Akoto Erica, Ahafo Region; Gloria Kwarteng, Northern Region; Eleanor Ama Seimaa Nimako, Ashanti Region; Portia Mensah, Upper East; and Stephanie Owiredua Kissi, Western Region.
