The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 19-year old boy over an alleged attack at Gomoa Amanda.
The Suspect, Godwin Quarahie and his accomplice (now at large) were said to have poured a powered substance like pepper into the eyes of one Okada driver, beat him up and stole his motorbike.
The suspect with an accomplice on Sunday April 25, at about 16:00 hours boarded an Okada from Gomoa Dasum to Gomoa Akotsi.
Upon reaching Akotsi near Gomoa Kwanyako road, they poured a powdery substance like pepper into the eyes of the Okada rider, beat him up and took the motorbike away.
A press statement signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Oppong, the Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) and copied to the GNA in Cape Coast said.

DSP Oppong stated that the Okada rider raised the alarm and with the help of some riders and youth from the villages around, arrested the suspect but his accomplice managed to escape.
The youth according to the statement, subjected the suspect to severe beatings and were about to lynch him, but for the timely intervention of one Okoto, a drinking spot operator in the area, who saved him.
The Police PRO said on receipt of the report, the police proceeded to the crime scene where a mob numbering about 150, holding stones, pieces of wood and looking very aggressive, were shouting for the release of the suspect to be lynched.
The police managed to rescue the suspect with the help of reinforcements and in the process, a police officer was injured from an object thrown at him.
The motorbike could not be retrieved but investigations was ongoing.
