Liverpool reportedly offered £37 million ($48 million) for Romeo Lavia, but Southampton turned it down.
The Reds hope to sign the Belgium international as they look to strengthen in midfield, but The Athletic claims Southampton have turned down an offer from the Reds.
Lavia wants to come to Anfield, so working out personal terms with the 19-year-old won’t be a problem. Nevertheless, Liverpool has been advised that they will need to make an offer closer to £50 million ($64 million) to persuade the Saints to release Lavia.
After losing Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo, Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his midfield options. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson may also go because both players appear to be moving to Saudi Arabia. Lavia has also been linked to Chelsea and Arsenal following his standout efforts for Southampton the previous season.
