Man Utd planning for Zlatan exit


Manchester United is making plans to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is expected to depart in 2018, according to Yahoo Sport UK. 

 

Ibrahimovic is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave sooner if he accepts an offer from Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League.

The 36-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions for United since returning from a serious knee injury in November. 

 

Efraín Juárez joining Vancouver


Though the clubs have not made the move official, Efrain Juarez is seemingly set to join the Vancouver Whitecaps from Liga MX side Monterrey.

The Mexico international, 29, gave an interview to ESPN Radio Formula in which he says the MLS side "honestly made me feel like Coutinho, very important."


Schalke interested in DCU prospect Williamson


Schalke is interested in signing D.C. United academy product Eryk Williamson, according to Metro.

The U.S. Under-20 international reportedly could reach a deal with the Bundesliga side in the next 7-10 days, though United remains in contention to sign the midfielder to a homegrown contract.


Khedira weighing MLS transfer


Sami Khedira will decide between signing a new deal with Juventus and moving to MLS this summer, according to Calcio News 24.

The 30-year-old midfielder remains a key figure for Juve, having started 12 Serie A matches and four Champions League contests this season. His current deal with the club doesn't expire until June 2019.


Morelia's Polo set to join Portland


The Portland Timbers have signed Peru international Andy Polo from Morelia for $2.5 million, according to El Popular.

Portland reportedly has acquired 55 percent of the attacker's rights, with Morelia retaining a 45 percent stake. Polo, 23, has earned 15 caps for Peru since 2016.


Sporting KC targeting Celtic striker Griffiths


Sporting Kansas City and Swansea City are interested in signing Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths, according to the Daily Mail.

Valued at around $9.5 million, the 27-year-old could be available as he finds himself battling Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard for playing time at Celtic.

While Sporting KC reportedly is looking to spend big on a striker this offseason, it remains to be seen if the club is willing to meet Griffiths' valuation.


Juarez set to join MLS side


Monterrey defender-midfielder Efrain Juarez is set for a move to MLS, Rayados coach Antonio Mohamed said.

The 29-year-old former Mexico international, who can play right back and defensive midfield, was held out of Monterrey's Clausura opener against Monarcas on Saturday ahead of a potential move.


Dynamo in talks with Venezuela defender


The Houston Dynamo are interested in Carabobo center back Alejandro Fuenmayor, reports the Houston Chronicle .

The 21-year-old's move to MLS was reported as done by South American outlets, but the Chronicle claims that nothing has been finalized.


Arda in talks over MLS move


Out-of-favor Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan is in talks over a possible move to the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old has not featured for the Blaugrana this season as the club has looked to offload him to several teams around Europe. 

But Turan could be tempted by a new challenge in the U.S. with Chicago, which signed Bastian Schweinsteiger for a $4.5 million deal last season.


Meram and Kamara want out of Columbus


Justin Meram and Ola Kamara would like to leave the Columbus Crew this offseason, according to MLSsoccer.com

The reports claims that uncertainty surrounding the club played a part in the players asking to be moved, but was not the only factor for either of the Crew stars. 

Kamara is looking for a new contract, while Meram is looking for a fresh challenge, according to the story. 

While the players have asked to be moved, Columbus' reported asking price — $1 million in guaranteed allocation money for Meram and a sizable transfer fee for Kamara — could keep any deal from happening. 


Independiente demands $24M for Barco


Atlanta United's pursuit of Ezequiel Barco appears to have hit a snag as Independiente is seeking double the initial reported asking price, according to  Ole .

While Atlanta was initially close to a deal for $12 million, the report states Barco's recent performances have made the Argentine club think the attacker is worth double that fee.

Atlanta has countered with $14 million up front and another $2 million in incentives, but it is not enough so far to move Independiente. 


Schweinsteiger nearing Chicago Fire return


Bastian Schweinsteiger is nearing a return to the Chicago Fire according to MLSsoccer.com .  

The report says talks between the retired Germany international and the MLS side are progressing and "the Fire expect" to agree to a new deal for the 2018 season, with the midfielder remaining a designated player. 

The deal would also include a team option for the 2019 campaign. 


Union make offer for Polish defender


Conflicting reports out of Poland, via SB Nation claim that the Philadelphia Union have made a large bid for 23-year-old center back Jaroslaw Jach, while other believe he'll likely move to Germany. 

Jach has been linked to a number of high-profile clubs, including Lazio, Zenit and Borussia Dortmund, though the current reports have him being chased by two unnamed 2. Bundesliga sides and Genoa. 


Vietnamese club wants Nguyen


Vietnamese club FLC Thanh Hoa is interested in landing New England Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen, according to a report out of the Asian nation

Nguyen, a Texas native, spent two years playing in Vietnam earlier in his career. The report claims the club is in contact with his father about a possible deal.


Bayern chasing RSL youngster


The Washington Post 's Steve Goff  has reported that Bayern Munich is chasing USA and Real Salt Lake prospect Taylor Booth. 

Real Salt Lake is also trying to land the youngster, who played a large part for the United States' U-17 side in 2017, but the report claims that a move to the Bavarian club is in the works. 


LAFC offers $8.4m for Benfica's Horta


LAFC has made an $8.4 million bid for Benfica midfielder Andre Horta, according to A Bola

The 21-year-old is on loan with Braga, but both he and Benfica are reportedly interested in reaching an agreement that would see him move to MLS for the 2018 season. 


Monaco, Fenerbache interested in Lawrence


Monaco, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor are interested in New York Red Bulls left back Kemar Lawrence, according to Turkish newspaper Gunebakis .

The 25-year-old, who reportedly could yield a $2 million transfer fee, made 27 MLS appearances for the Red Bulls last season and was a key part of Jamaica's run to the Gold Cup final.


FC Dallas in talks with River Plate defender


FC Dallas is in talks with River Plate defender Jonatan Maidana, journalist Niko Moreno reports.

Capped four times by Argentina, the 32-year-old center back would be brought in to fill the void left by Walker Zimmerman's move to Los Angeles FC.


Toronto, Dallas eye Argentine center back


Toronto FC and FC Dallas are monitoring Colon defender German Conti, Argentine newspaper El Litoral reports.

Neither club, however, is said to be ready to pay the $3.6 million exit clause for the 23-year-old center back.


Montreal acquires Chilean forward Vargas


The Montreal Impact will add Chilean winger Jeisson Vargas, according to Chilean journalist Bruno Sampieri .

The 20-year-old is currently under contract with Serie A side Bologna, which is also owned by Impact owner Joey Saputo.

Vargas spent the last six months on loan from Bologna to Chilean club Universidad Catolica. He was reportedly going to extend that loan but will instead head to MLS.


Depor's Tyton mulling MLS offers


Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton could be heading to MLS, according to local reports (via MLSSoccer.com )

While the Spanish reports do not list any MLS side by name, they claim that the club will give the Polish net minder his pick of teams should he decide to leave. 

Despite mentioning MLS, it is believes that Tyton will likely stay in Europe to continue his career. 


Montreal pursuing Hutchinson


The Montreal Impact are looking to sign Canada international Atiba Hutchinson from Besiktas, according to Kartal Bakisi .

Hutchinson, 34, would bolster the Impact's options in central midfield after the retirement of Patrice Bernier and expiration of Hernan Bernardello's contract.
