Efraín Juárez joining Vancouver


Though the clubs have not made the move official, Efrain Juarez is seemingly set to join the Vancouver Whitecaps from Liga MX side Monterrey.

The Mexico international, 29, gave an interview to ESPN Radio Formula in which he says the MLS side "honestly made me feel like Coutinho, very important."

 

Tigres make Nasri offer


Tigres have made an offer to bring Samir Nasri to the club, according to Todo Mercado.

Nasri currently is with Antalyaspor but the same firesale that led Jeremy Menez to leave the Turkish side for Club America could have Nasri moving to the north of Mexico. Tigres are rumored to have offered the Frenchman an 18-month deal to join his compatriot Andre-Pierre Gignac.


Veracruz nearing deal for "Cubo"


Veracruz has expressed interest in bringing Erick "Cubo" Torres to the club, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Additional reports say Torres is currently in his hometown of Guadalajara and may not head back to the United States. Torres scored 14 goals for the Dynamo in the 2017 season but just three of those came once the calendar turned to July.


Cruz Azul matching Pena's Rangers wages 


Cruz Azul will pay Carlos "Gullit" Pena's wages - currently at 20,000 pounds ($27,129) per week while the midfielder is on loan with Rangers, according to the Daily RecordThe loan would include an option to buy for 2 million pounds at the end of the summer.

ESPN Mexico and several other outlets reported at the beginning of the year that Pena is set to reunite with Pedro Caixinha.

The Portuguese manager signed Pena and Eduardo "Lalo" Herrera for his Rangers team but now has moved onto Cruz Azul. La Maquina would mark Pena's fourth club in Mexico after stops with Pachuca, Leon and Chivas.


England, Turkey potential landing spots for Layun


Everton and Fernbache are interested in signing Mexican fullback Miguel Layun from Porto, according to  A Bola .

Layun is a likely starter for El Tri at the World Cup but has fallen down the depth chart at Porto and is seeing very little game action. Despite that, Porto has been reluctant to negotiate for the Veracruz native, who also has been linked to La Liga clubs Alaves and Celta de Vigo.


Monterrey making Gaitan bid


Boca Juniors' attempt to bring attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan back to Argentina has been complicated by a bid from Monterrey, according to  Clarin .

While the player is ready to leave Atletico Madrid this winter and has bids in England, Spain and Italy, Rayados could log a surprise bid of up to $11 million.


Lazio looking at Reyes


Lazio is preparing for the departure of center back Stefan de Vrij and has Mexico national team member Diego Reyes as its top target, according to  A Bola .

In recent weeks, Reyes has seen more minutes but is still struggling to find consistent playing time with Porto. 

Reyes still doesn't have a European passport, though, something that could make his move to Serie A more difficult.


Almeyda a candidate for job in Argentina


Chivas manager Matias Almeyda is one of the top three candidates for the same job at Independiente, according to La Nacion .

The recently crowned Copa Sudamericana champion needs a coach after Ariel Holan's departure, and Almeyda's name once again is in the mix after the club originally discussed bringing him in last winter.


Lozano could set Mexican transfer record


Both Arrenal and Everton are willing to pay big money for Hirving Lozano, according to AM .

The newspaper reports that the Premier League clubs would pay the 48 million euro fee PSV is asking for the services of the 22-year-old winger whose 10 goals this season have him atop the Eredivisie scoring charts. That would be the highest fee ever paid for a Mexican player.


Pumas set sights on Gudino


As Pumas' hunt continues for a new goalkeeper, Raul Gudino now has emerged as a leading candidate, according to Cancha .

The 21-year-old Mexican currently is with APOEL in Cyprus on loan from Porto B but has been the target of approaches by Chivas and other Mexican teams. Now the club from Ciudad Universitaria is pushing to make his return to domestic soil a reality.


Munoz's future unclear


Moises Munoz is not on Puebla's list of players to be transferred but the club would be willing to let him go if the right offer came, according to Record .

The 37-year-old goalkeeper was reportedly a target for an MLS team last year but so far has stayed in Mexico since leaving Club America, playing with relegated Jaguares and relegation-threatened Puebla.


Argentine giant chasing Romero


Club America forward Silvio Romero is the subject of a potential move by River Plate, according to various Argentine reports including one in  La Pagina Millonaria .

Despite the Argentine's disappointing tournament, La Banda are reportedly set to pay $4 million for 50 percent of the 29-year-old's rights.


Sporting KC after Boselli


MLS side Sporting Kansas City has made a multi-million dollar offer to Leon for forward Mauro Boselli, according to El Universal .

The central forward is 32 but tied Aviles Hurtado as the top scorer in the recently completed Apertura with 11 goals. It was the Argentine's third Liga MX scoring crown.
