The video, from YouTube creator Panda Musk, may not entirely match up with what players might expect from Destiny 2. However, the way that it manages to perfectly encapsulate the feel of the original intro to the Thundercats cartoon show is absolutely phenomenal. Indeed, fans of both Destiny and Thundercats will no doubt see it as an impeccable job.
With Destiny 2 releasing for consoles on September 6, 2017, excitement for the game is really hotting up. Bungie has certainly been helping with this, releasing plenty of additional trailers for the title, including an absolutely fantastic Destiny 2 live action trailer. It’s definitely helping players get into the mood for the game when it does finally launch.
Although Bungie has been focusing on some of the larger components of Destiny 2 in the run-up to the game’s release, some of the smaller but perhaps more interesting elements have also been given a look-in when it comes to the trailers. Perhaps of note to those who felt disappointed in the original game’s story are the Destiny 2 Adventures, which effectively act as smaller, narrative-driven optional missions. Should they help piece together the story in Destiny 2, then these Adventures will no doubt be much appreciated by players after a look at the bigger picture.
That said, the plot of Destiny 2 is still very much a point of interest for players, particularly given Bungie’s hints about the role of the Vex in Destiny 2 DLC. For better or worse, though, it’s unlikely that Mumm-Ra is going to be the surprise big bad at the end of Destiny 2 – unless Bungie has kept an official Thundercats crossover very much under wraps.
Destiny 2 releases on September 6, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One, and on October 24, 2017 for PC.
