Inflation has resumed its rising trajectory.

Consumer price inflation has resumed an upward trend after falling for the first four months of the year, rising from 41.2 percent in April to 42.2 percent in May.
Food inflation jumped from 48.7 percent in April to 51.8 percent last month, driving up inflation.
Non-food inflation, on the other hand, fell from 35.4 percent in April to 34.6 percent.
Inflation for domestically manufactured commodities was 36.2%, while it was 43.8% for imported items.
