Three persons have been killed by floods at Kabilmain in the Bole District of the Northern Region after torrential rains.
The bodies of the three deceased have been given to their families for burial after a search team retrieved them.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the three, who were on board a tricycle, got drowned while crossing a river between Dakurpe and Kabilma in the Bole District.
The paper learnt that a bridge over the river, which got damaged, has been abandoned for several years by successive governments.
The Bole District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Sulemana Kipo, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said after several hours of search, the team retrieved the three dead bodies at separate locations.
He disclosed that the deceased did not notice that the bridge had been washed off by the floods because it was dark and that when they got to the scene they got submerged.
The Bole District Director said the incident had been reported to the Bole Police and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) for investigations.
Mr. Sulemana Kipo appealed to residents to volunteer information to the NADMO Team about the exact number of displaced persons.
The about six-hour rainfall in the Bole District destroyed many properties and displaced several residents.
