The Ghana Meteorological Agency says the severe harmattan being experienced currently would last till Sunday, February 16.
The Agency in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 12, explained that the change in weather pattern is as a result of the dry and cool continental winds entering the country.
“Therefore, the atmosphere would remain dry and hazy with drastic reduction in visibility values of less than 1km to a little above 3km will be observed. Relative humidity values will be less than 20% over the Northern Ghana, 20-40% over the middle sector and 25-55% over the coastal belt,” the statement said.
It added that night to early morning hours temperature will be relatively cool over the northern half of the country, while the afternoon hours will be warm with hazy sunshine dominating.
