GWBF receives relief items from National Paralympic Committee

The Ghana wheelchair Basketball Federation (GWBF) on Monday, received Covid-19 support items from the National Paralympic Committee (NPC).

The relief packages include bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of Milo, and nose masks were received by Lion Wilson Agbesi the Secretary-General of GWB, the national body for development, and promotion of wheelchair basketball in Ghana.

The items were presented at a brief ceremony at the Office of the President of NPC, Mr. Samson Deen, and done by Mr. Peter Adjei, Secretary-General of NPC.

Mr. Adjei in his short speech revealed that the President of NPC and his entire Executive Board extend their sincere and heartfelt solidarity to all members of the disability sports fraternity in the country during these challenging moments.

“It is in view of these challenges the President thought it wise to lobby for relief items to support all Associations and Federations under the NPC  and out of this the positive initiative they have been able to secure some few items and have decided to share it fairly among the Associations and the federations based on the membership strength of the Association in the Country,” he said.

Mr. Lion Wilson Agbesi, Secretary-General of GWBF expressed his sincere happiness and appreciation on behalf of GWBF to  NPC, for their support which he considered very timely considering the plight of athletes.

He called on corporate bodies, government agencies, faith-based Organisation’s and other NGOs, to support the GWBF to be able to support its members.
