Government approves bill to transform Road Safety Commission

Government says it has granted approval for the National Road Safety Commission to be transformed into an Authority.

They will have the mandate to ensure compliance to road safety measures, policies, procedures and guidelines.

The Minister for Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, made this known when he took his turn at the ‘Meet The Press Series’ in Accra.

The Bill he said is currently with the Attorney General’s office and would soon be placed before Parliament.

Meanwhile, Mr Asiamah has announced that the Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority Kwame Owusu has tendered in his resignation and has proceeded on retirement.
