The GCB Bank Limited on Thursday commended GOIL Company Limited for its strategic drive towards maintaining its leadership in the downstream petroleum sector.
Mr Kofi Adomakoh, Managing Director of GCB Bank explained that GOIL and GCB are fraternal as they both operate as the indigenous backbone of the country in the banking and petroleum sector respectively.
Mr Adomakoh stated in a solidarity message during the commissioning of an ultra-modern office complex for the GOIL Tema Zonal Office to serve Volta, and Oti Regions as well as Tema, Ashiaman Municipal, Kpone, and Somanya Districts.
The GCB Bank MD lauded the efforts of the GOIL Board and Management especially the leadership of Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, GOIL Group Chief Executive Officer for maintaining the company as an oil company of choice.

He challenged GOIL to take a giant step into the West African Market, as it can venture into the sub-regional field.
He said GCB has consistently grown and demonstrated its commitment to Ghana over the last six decades and “we will continue to do so in the achievements we make and in the positive difference we bring to people’s lives, that is why we are glad to associate with GOIL which is also on the driveway”.
In a world where nothing stands still, GCB now occupies an environment with more intense competition and higher consumer expectations than ever before.
Mr Osei-Prempeh, GOIL Group Chief Executive Officer challenged churches and other corporate bodies to invest and buy GOIL shares as the company is a profitable venture.
“I want to assure our valued customers that GOIL will continue to protect their interests. GOIL is for Ghanaians and therefore any investment by way of patronage of our products, in the end, benefits our citizens.
“I, therefore, appeal to Ghanaians to continue keeping faith with GOIL,” he said.
He said GOIL is a local company with a mission of transformation into an efficient and profitable entity in the petroleum industry with the customer at the core of its business.
Mr Kwamina Bartels, GOIL Board Chairman disclosed that, even though 2020 was a difficult year for the petroleum sector due to the effects of COVID-19, “GOIL is positive about the future and is determined to capitalize on new business opportunities as the economy rebounds”.
“Let me take this opportunity to assure Ghanaians of hopeful prospects for the company. Our Bitumen project is over 80 percent complete, and work on the construction of plants for the Gas Recirculation project as well as that of autogas stations projects are underway.
“GOIL is therefore on course to consolidate its status as the market leader,” Mr Bartels noted.
The commission was graced with traditional authorities including the Gbetsele Mantse Nii Tei Kojo Amanqwah Sune I; others from Akwamu Traditional Area; Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Solomon Tettey Appiah; as well as heads of some corporate bodies such as GCB Bank, Police, Fire Service, and VRA.
