European Union partners Citi’s ‘Back to Your Village Food Bazaar’

Date:

The Ambassador for the European Union to Ghana, H.E Irchad Razaaly, has joined the list of sponsors and patrons of the Back to Your Village Food Bazaar organized by Citi TV/ Citi FM as part of the Heritage Month celebration.

The Ambassador, speaking on Breakfast Daily on Citi TV, said since the Media house is embarking on an event that showcases the culture of Ghanaians through food, it resonates with the European Union’s recognition of culture.

“Not only because I like food myself, but at large it’s a big thing in Europe, and I am gifted to be assigned to Ghana where culture is taken seriously.  So, for me, it is a no-brainer, and we have to jump in into any meaningful initiative that is related to culture.”

He noted that apart from bringing varieties of food, which he could not mention as he would need to consult his team, he said they would be showcasing a unique project.

“We have a project called the Market Oriented Agriculture Programme (MOAP) that will be supporting the food business, and creating opportunities for the farmers, sellers to create added value and increase their profitability. This will be a nice connection with the food length, agricultural length, and the job creation aspect.”

He further noted that there has been some agreement with the government of Ghana on some areas that are of priority, such as supporting and stimulating economic growth by creating jobs and making them more sustainable.
