Dr. Randy Abbey charged with leading engagement with gov’t in role as Black Stars management committee chair

The chairman of the newly constituted Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey will be in charge of leading engagement with the Government and other stakeholders.

The role has been assigned to Dr. Abbey by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following his appointment to chair the Management Committee of the country’s male senior national team.

In a statement announcing the appointment on Saturday, January 18, the Ghana FA indicated that the newly constituted committee has been mandated to oversee the administration and logistical aspects of the Black Stars.

“The Football Association is pleased to announce the formation of a new Management Committee for the Senior Male National Team, the Black Stars.

“The Committee, which is tasked with overseeing the administrative and logistical aspects of the team, will be chaired by Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the GFA. In addition to chairing the Committee, Dr. Abbey shall lead engagement with Government and other stakeholders,” the GFA said in its communication.

On the Black Stars Management Committee, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has been appointed as deputy chairman to assist Dr. Randy Abbey and also handle Player Relations.

The other members of the Committee include Mr. Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and an Executive Council member of the GFA and Mr. Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club.
