Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s vice president, will find it challenging to serve as the party’s flagbearer and finally as president, according to Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakoe, an NPP founding member.
Although Bawumia is a nice person, according to Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, who has known him for a good while, the NPP will make it impossible for him to realize his ultimate goal of becoming head of state.

In an interview with TV3’s Johnnie Hughes, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe discussed the likelihood that Dr. Bawumia would serve as the NPP’s flagbearer. She stated, “I did an interview, it was with a foreign magazine, I will find out if I still have it, I will share with you, where I made clear that by the structure of our party, Bawumia cannot come to power.
“Bawumia is a lovely gentleman, but if Bawumia had that independent thought and strength and had not just always praised what the president has done or has not done, I would have looked at him differently, I know Bawumia very well,” said the person who knew Bawumia well.
