Domenico Tedesco refuses to blame VAR for Belgium’s upset defeat to Slovakia, despite Romelu Lukaku’s two goals being disallowed.

Date:

The Red Devils suffered a huge loss in their opening encounter of Euro 2024, losing 1-0 to Slovakia thanks to a seventh-minute goal from Ivan Schranz. Belgium scored twice, but both were called out by VAR.

Despite the frustrating conclusion, manager Tedesco declined to blame the referees, claiming he did not want to come out as a sour loser. He even praised VAR and the officials for executing their jobs fairly, as he gently accepted defeat.
