Director-General of SSNIT has been named the 2nd-best CEO

Date:

The Director-General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang, has been adjudged 2nd-Best Chief Executive Officer of State-Owned Enterprises for 2021.

This was during a survey conducted by FAKS Investigative Services between October and December 2021. The survey is the 10th edition in the series carried out by the investigative body.

In total, 3,551 respondents out of 3,953 indicated that the SSNIT boss’ performance since he took office in 2017 has been recognised widely – sharing the same spot with the CEO of Ghana Gas, Dr. Benjamin Asante, and the CEO of Students Loan Trust Fund, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah.

Operational efficiency

There was a smooth roll-out of the SSNIT-NIA number merger, despite challenges associated with acquisition of the Ghana Card. Due to significant improvements in claims processing, pensions are now processed within 10 days.

Further to this, the Trust in the past four years has saved the national pension scheme a total of GH¢235million by withholding pensions of those who are 72 years and above who had not renewed their Pensioner Certificates.
