Daily Devotional: 3rd April “GIVE IT UP”

Date:

READ : Mark 10:28-31

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” – Luke 9:23

God promises that we shall receive a hundredfold blessing now and in the world to come. We must believe that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Expect rewards on earth and in Heaven as you serve the Lord.

Are you afraid to trust the Lord? You are making the greatest mistake of your life. Give yourself to Him. It is worth the risk! There is a hymn, by George Bennard, which blesses my heart. As you read the words, may the Lord inspire you to lay down your life for Him!

The Old Rugged Cross
On a hill far away, Stood an old rugged cross The emblem of suffering and shame, And I love that old cross Where the dearest and best, For a world of lost sinners was slain Oh that old rugged cross, So despised by the world Holds a wondrous attraction to me, For t’was on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me To the old rugged cross, I will ever be true It’s shame and reproach gladly bear, Then He’ll call me some day To my home far away, Where His glory forever I’ll share.

Chorus:
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I’ll lay down I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown.
