The Green Republic Project, a private initiative geared toward the mobilization of the youth to plant 20 million trees across Ghana within ten years, has called on the president to establish a ministry for climate change and global warming.
Speaking at the second annual climate benefit ball to raise funds for the initiative, convener of the Green Republic Project, Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa commended the president for adopting the national tree planting day but added that, a ministry dedicated to the issue of climate change will go a long way to tackle the effects head-on.

The second annual climate benefit ball was under the theme “Emerging from Covid-19 Pandemic to Accelerated Climate Action”.
The convener of the Green Republic Project, Nana Yaw Oseir-Darkwa called on major stakeholders in the climate action space to endeavour to extend support to smaller groups in order to ensure sustainability.
