COVID-19: Ghana’s case count now 7,303

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced 186 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national total case count  to 7,303.
 
The cases, the GHS said, were recorded in four regions: Greater Accra 140; Central – 23; Ashanti – 14; and Eastern – nine.
 
The latest update also saw the country’s recoveries surge to 2,412, from Wednesday’s 2,317 – an increase of 95 new recoveries.
 
The death toll remained 34, bringing the total current active case count to 4,857.
 
With the 140 new cases confirmed in the Greater Accra Region, it now has 5,148; while Ashanti follows with 1,099. 
 
The Central Region has moved from the fourth to the third position, with a total of 360 cases.
 
The rest are :
  • Western Region – 344
  • Eastern Region – 117
  • Western North Region – 62
  • Volta Region – 59
  • Northern Region – 36
  • Oti Region – 26
  • Upper East Region- 26
  • Upper West Region- 22
  • North East Region – 2
  • Savannah Region- 1
  • Bono Region-  1
 
The Ahafo and Bono East remain the  regions with no confirmed case of the disease.
