Conference of District Directors of Agriculture elects regional executives

Koforidua, Feb. 10, GNA – The Conference of District Directors of Agriculture (CODDA) – Eastern Region, has elected five new officers to steer the affairs of the association.

In a press release issued by Mr Stephen Boadi, Eastern Regional President of CODDA, said the association was committed and ready to help the Government to roll out the implementation of its flagship programme, Agriculture for Economic Transformational Agenda (AETA).

The agenda aims to deploy the use of coordinated strategies to build a modernized agricultural economy and promote agribusinesses for jobs.

He said the Regional CODDA executives would continue to engage all relevant stakeholders and partners to promote sustainable and thriving agribusiness.

The newly elected officers are Mr Boadi, President of the Conference of District Directors of Agriculture, also the Asene Manso Akroso District Agriculture Director, and Mr Francis Dogbese as the Vice President.

The rest are Mr Emmanuel Agroh, Secretary, Mr Solomon Attipoe, Organizer and Ms Joyce Kyeraa, Financial Secretary.

The executives are mandated by its constitution to run a two-year term subject to renewal.

Mr Boadi said, CODDA is a body of professionals with vast knowledge, expertise and experience in the field of Agricultural value chain development, agricultural policy development and evaluation as well as providing tried and tested solutions to the modern challenges facing the Ghanaian Agricultural sector.

The role of CODDA is key to the development of Ghana`s agricultural sector, making the association the central point to Ghana’s quest for attaining self-sufficiency in food production.

CODDA operates in all the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country.

He said the regional conferences work in harmony with the national body to promote the policies, programmes and projects of government in line with the constitution of the association.

CODDA had been instrumental in the implementation of government policies, programmes and projects aimed at promoting food security, job creation, preserving the ecology and empowering women and youth in Agriculture, he emphasized.

“It will place the media at the centre of its activities and operations as its strategic partner to advance agricultural growth in the country,” he noted.
