Christians now love inordinate things than spiritual ones -Pastor Atsiago

Date:

Reverend Philip Atsiago, SSNIT Flats District Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana has observed that a lot of Christians now love inordinate materials or about earthly things than spiritual things.

He said the Churches were also showing more concern about projects than winning more souls for Christ.

Rev. Atsiago made the observation in a sermon on the theme “Revive us again O God” at the Kekeli Congregation, SSNIT Flats, Ho during the Church’s Men’s week thanksgiving celebration.

He said even Christians used social media and other platforms to find fault with people in leadership positions adding “such people do not examine their own ways of lives.”

He observed that the Church was in a state of dormancy or stagnation and therefore needed spiritual re-awakening, but before that revival or re-awakening “people should be ready to be corrected.”

He said they should also give respect and honour to those in leadership positions adding “those in leadership positions should also see themselves as servant leaders.”

The District Pastor said the world had witnessed a lot of revivals in the church in the past and said it was time another revival took place to bring a positive change in the lives of Christians encompassing recognition of God’s love, appreciation of His Holiness and passion for his word and the church.

“Without revival we cannot live to glorify God and be obedient to his will in mind, heart and soul,” he added.

He asked Christians to use their wealth and knowledge to grow the Church.
