Chamber for Tourism Ghana Board announces appointment of Emmanuel Treku as Chief Executive Officer

The Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana’s Board of Directors recently announced the appointment of Emmanuel Treku, as the Chief Executive officer of the Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana from 1 November 2021.

The appointment follows an executive search process following the announcement in September 2021 by then CEO Prince Ntiamoah Boampong of his intention to transition from his position. Prince has been serving in an acting capacity since April 2021.

During the time that Emmanuel Treku has served as a Consultant to the Chamber, the board has been impressed with his commitment to openness, attention to detail and an unrelenting focus on the future of the Chamber. Emmanuel Treku has demonstrated he possesses the skills, attitude and vision to lead the management team to deliver on Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana’s future and mission.”

Upon his appointment, Emmanuel Treku said he looked forward to growing Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana into the most prolific and most innovative tourism business platform in Ghana. “I look forward to continuing to work with the Board and our ardent management team to maximize this opportunity to deliver further growth and value for all our stakeholders,” he said.

Emmanuel Treku has more than 20 years of work experience in the Hospitality, leisure, and tourism sectors across emerging markets. During the early years of his career, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the private sector tourism of Ghana. Prior to joining Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana, Emmanuel Treku was a Ghanaian partner of FICOTA, Cameroun an African Chamber of Trade and Commerce program for the transformation of cotton in Africa, CEO and Convener of Inter Tourism Expo Accra, a MICE Tourism promotions to optimize Ghana as a preferred business tourism destination.

The CTI Board recently reported the Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana partnership process with Rwanda Chamber of Tourism to offer an end to end African tourism business solutions for its members.
