Breaking News: Alban Bagbin declared Speaker of 8th Parliament

A day after bringing to an end his service to the nation as a member of Parliament, he is elected the Speaker of Parliament.

Honorable Alban Bagbin has served as the longest serving member of Parliament.

Described as best suited for the job, Honorable Bagbin was born 1957 in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

He is a lawyer having graduated in 1982 and holds a masters degree in Governance and Leadership from Gimpa.

One time second deputy speaker, Honourable Bagbin has been in Parliament since the inception of the 4th Republican Parliament in 1993.
