Black Queens shows class against Morocco

Date:

A classic show from the Black Queens was all Coach Mercy Quarcoo-Tagoe needed to beat Morocco again in an International Friendly match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday evening.

Two goals from Sandra Owusu Ansah was enough for Ghana to seal victory over the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco.

Both goals came in the first half which made Ghana won the giant trophy in the two nation competition.

When the female senior national team hosted the visitors on Friday, the latter were thrashed by a 3-1 scoreline which put both ties on a 5-1 aggregate.

From recess, though the Black Queens were leading, the homers mounted pressure on the Moroccans to add more goals but shots from Gladys Amfobea, Beatrice Sesu, and captain Elizabeth Addo were missed.

The Moroccans were pushing to grab a goal but the defensive wall built around Linda Eshun, Janet Egir, and Gladys Amfobea were enough to deny the Moroccans passage to the goal post.

The two international matches played was part of the Royal Morocco Football Association plans to strengthen ties between the two countries and test the two countries preparedness for their respective international assignments.
