Lamine Yamal has been criticized by Roma veteran Francesco Totti for not contributing goals to his game, as the young player finds it difficult to score.
The former Roma attacker said that the teenager’s form in front of goal has not been good enough, with Yamal having not scored in La Liga since October. Italy’s beloved Totti has lauded Barcelona’s young star Yamal but had some doubts about one area of his game.

Rising through the ranks at La Masia, Yamal had a breakthrough season under Xavi in the 2023-24 campaign, scoring seven goals in 50 appearances across all competitions. Then followed EURO 2024, where he was awarded the best young player accolade.
He began the 2024-25 season under Hansi Flick in incredible form, scoring five goals in his first 11 La Liga appearances of the season. However, his last last league goal came during the famous 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu and since that game on October 27, Yamal has gone 12 league games without scoring.
“He still scores few goals,” Totti said at the Viva la Futbol podcast (h/t MARCA). “He is very strong, he flew at the Euros… He seemed to be flying, then he dropped a bit, he is very good, but he still scores few goals.”
