George Opare Addo, the attorney for several of the Arise Ghana demonstrators, has claimed that the protesters who were detained on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, during the Arise Ghana march, were starved to death in police custody.
He said that one of the 29 people who were detained by the police and arrested had to be sent to the hospital right away because of the effects of his hunger, and that he is still there. The Tesano, Osu, Ministries, La, and Nima Police Stations are where the remaining 28 are housed.

“We arrived at the police headquarters at 9:30 p.m. to introduce ourselves as legal representatives for the detained protesters, but they barred us from seeing them. Whatever we stated, they continued to reject us. He said on the 3FM Sunrise Morning Show, “We decided that they should allow us to give them food because they were hungry, but they denied us.
Lawyer Opare further underlined that since the 48 hours of lawful custody would have passed, it would be a flagrant violation of the suspects’ rights if the police did not give the detained demonstrators a police inquiry bill by 4 PM today.
