A total of 4,095 applicants were registered as voters in the just ended limited voter’s registration exercise in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region.
Mr Anobil Forson, Agona West Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), at Swedru, said the figure is made up of 2,163 females and 1,932 males.
He said there were 18 challenged cases who were later found to be qualified and after amicable resolution with the protestors, their voter ID cards were issued to them.
Mr Anobil Forson commended stakeholders and major players who took part in the 23-day incident free exercise in the municipality.
He expressed optimism that the ongoing voter transfer exercise will be smooth with no problem just as the limited registration exercise.
Mr Anobil Forson appealed to all who qualify to transfer their votes to quickly throng the EC offices to do so without delay to ensure fair and transparent voters’ register.
