Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has notified the national executive of his running partner.
He has chosen Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, ahead of the December 7 election.
On Monday, the Vice President met with the party’s national officials at its headquarters in Accra.
This decision was made after negotiations with President Nana Addo Dankwa and Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Henry Nana Boakye, National Organiser of the NPP, added that Dr Bawumia’s nomination “however awaits the decision of the National Council which is the final approval organ of the NPP.”
