Taushey Denay Sias is not just an artist; she is a living testament to the transformative power of faith, resilience, and talent. An award-winning recording artist, songwriter, and actress, Taushey’s journey from a young girl with a remarkable voice to a celebrated performer is both inspiring and moving. Let’s delve into the incredible story of Taushey Sias, a true embodiment of grace and perseverance.

A Gift Recognized Early

Taushey’s musical journey began at the tender age of two when her parents, Reverend Waylon D. Sias and Ami L. Moore, recognized her extraordinary singing talent. Her voice was so captivating that her family included her in their singing group, Ami Sias and the Sias Family, by the time she was six. It was clear from the start that Taushey was destined for greatness.

By the age of nine, Taushey had already made her mark as the lead singer on the group’s single, “I’ll Follow You Always.” Her talent didn’t go unnoticed; she was also featured in the “Deep in the Heart of Texas” commercial, which aired across the central Texas metroplex. These early achievements laid a solid foundation for her burgeoning career.

Rising Through Competitions and Stages

Taushey’s passion for music led her to compete in numerous local and national contests, showcasing her extraordinary vocal abilities. These competitions provided her with the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists such as God’s Property (Kirk Franklin), Shirley Caesar, Douglas Miller, Shaun McLemore, and Tamela Mann. Among these notable experiences, performing alongside her all-time favorite, Kim Burrell, stands out as a defining moment in her career.

In 2016, Taushey’s dedication to her craft paid off when she released her single “Always There,” which quickly climbed to #1 on ReverbNation. This success brought her widespread recognition and earned her the “Lillian Lily Award” and “Best New Artist of the Year” within just six months. Taushey’s journey was taking off, and her star was rising.

Overcoming Adversity: From Homelessness to Hope

Life, however, was not without its challenges. Taushey faced a series of trials, including homelessness and losing everything she owned in a devastating fire. It was during this period of struggle that her faith was tested like never before. Out of these trials, God birthed her profound single, “You Never Left Me,” a song that became a true testament to her resilience and faith. In 2018, the song was featured in the movie “Shattered Love” and continued to receive nominations for several awards, gaining heavy rotation on the national level.

Expanding Horizons: Education and Jazz

Determined to broaden her horizons, Taushey enrolled at McLennan Community College in 2019. There, she immersed herself in the study of music scoring and jazz, quickly becoming one of the leaders at the school. She had the honor of writing for the “Jazz Ensemble,” penning the song “All I Am,” which reflects her life’s journey. This piece encapsulates her story of trials and triumphs, highlighting how every experience shaped her into the artist she is today.

Today, Taushey Sias is not just looking back at her achievements but is also focused on the future. She is working on her first album and a documentary that promises to delve deep into her journey, showcasing her struggles, victories, and the unwavering faith that has guided her every step of the way.
